    (4)  A physician assistant may prescribe and dispense buprenorphine for medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependency if the requirements in (1) or (2) are fulfilled and the following conditions are met: see full law

    (1) It is unlawful for any person to commence operating a methadone clinic:(a) Within 1,000 feet of the real property comprising an existing public or private elementary, secondary or career school attended primarily by minors; or(b) Within 1,000 feet of the real property comprising an existing licensed child care facility. As used in this section, “licensed child care facility” means a child care center certified under ORS 329A.280 that is operating under authority of a valid business license. see full law

    (2)  A physician assistant may issue written, electronic or oral prescriptions for Schedule III-V medications, which the supervising physician has determined the physician assistant is qualified to prescribe commensurate with the practice agreement or Board-approved practice description, if the physician assistant has met the requirements of OAR 847-050-0020(1). see full law
